1. Confirm the exact GPU version
Model names are not enough. Many cards have multiple VRAM versions, memory bus widths, cooler designs and power limits. An RTX 3060 12 GB is not the same buying decision as an RTX 3060 8 GB, and an RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB should not be priced like the 8 GB card.

2. Ask for useful proof
Ask for a recent stress test, benchmark or gaming screenshot with GPU temperature, clocks and fan speed visible.
Ports, PCIe fingers and power connectors should be clearly visible and not hidden by bad lighting.
Warranty proof matters most on expensive RTX 40, RTX 50 and high-end Radeon cards.
3. Compare before buying
Do not compare only against the same exact model. A used RTX 3070, RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 3060 12 GB, RX 6600 or RX 7800 XT can overlap in price but behave very differently in VRAM-heavy games, ray tracing, power use and local AI software.
- For local AI, NVIDIA CUDA support and VRAM size often matter more than raw gaming benchmarks.
- For budget gaming, power use and driver support can make a newer efficient card a better buy than an older flagship.
- For high-end cards, connector condition and warranty proof should affect how much risk you accept.
